KNU Colonel Released by Thai Army

Col Ner Dah Mya, the son of the late Gen Bo Mya of the Karen National Union (KNU), has reportedly been released on bail by the Thai army, according to the London-based British Broadcasting Corporation Burmese service. He was arrested in January.The BBC quoted a Thai army officer as saying that Col Ner Dah Mya was arrested and charged with possessing illegal weapons and transporting Burmese migrants to Thailand.

VOA: UDP Leader Threatens to Sue The Irrawaddy

The leader of the Canada-based United Democratic Party of Myanmar is threatening legal action against The Irrawaddy, according to an interview carried by the Voice of America.
